Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Latin letters appear in Cyrillic text?
Most often this happens when copying text from PDFs, scans or websites. Some letters look identical: а/a, е/e, о/o, с/c, р/p. The human eye cannot tell the difference, but computers see different characters.
Why can't I find text with Ctrl+F?
If even one letter in a word is from the wrong alphabet, search will not find it. "Hello" with a Latin "e" and "Hello" with a Cyrillic "е" are different strings to a computer.
Which characters does the tool check?
For Latin detection: all Latin letters a-z, A-Z. For auto-correction: only those that look similar in both alphabets — a/а, e/е, o/о, c/с, p/р, x/х, y/у, i/і, B/В, H/Н, K/К, M/М, T/Т.
Does "Fix" replace all letters?
No. Only Latin letters that have a Cyrillic equivalent are replaced (e.g. e→е, o→о). Latin letters without an equivalent (s, d, f, g etc.) remain highlighted — they need manual correction.
Are other Cyrillic languages supported?
Yes. The tool supports all Cyrillic alphabets — Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Serbian and other Cyrillic-based languages.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. All analysis happens in your browser. Text is never sent to any server, stored or logged.
